I would almost let consider letting it slide since Ivan hasn't played a game, HOWEVER...
I personally talked to Ivan he stated that Turtle did contact him about playing and Ivan told him that he would play. Ivan even tried playing for both teams Sunday, which wasn't happening. I told him to make the choice of who to play for Sunday, he chose the Steelers.
He will fall under the new rule and I wouldn't see an appeal changing anything. If Josh "Turtle" Luchuck, captain of the Dolphins, says Ivan cannot play vs the Dolphins then Ivan will not be permitted to play. He can play in the playoffs vs the Dolphins.
Hopefully Turtle reads this and gives his ruling on here so you guys can get it out in the clear. He may not even care if he plays.
This rule was made so teams would have stability before the season and guys won't jump ship middle of the season b/c their team sucks and it causes teams to not tamper with other players behind the captain's back.
