Just informed we will not be aloud to use Lumberport Middle's Field. Stevie Buck just called me and said the principal from LMS sent the email to board rep. to OK the use of the field this year and they said NO, bc we have to have insurance policy etc.
I'm going to view my options on new locations, if there are any. I have some ideas and people to contact, and if any of you guys have any ideas let it be known asap.
Thanks.

If thats the case with LMS, is it the same with every school facility? I'm trying to think of a big field somewhere close by. It doesnt have to be a sports field of any kind. Just big enough to paint it up with the same dimensions as we did at LMS.

Yea, I can think of a few nice ones, like the one across from Lincoln's baseball field, the lot in front of the Shinnston pool (But I think they play soccer there), Gore's field but that is school property.
Sad, you grow attached to that field over time.

Liability Insurance isnt expensive. It depends on how much Harrison County requires and if they require us to be affiliated with another organization. I dont know about premiums right off the top of my head, but it might be worth looking into. I did an online quote for a non affiliated flag football league and it was this:
$250,000 Medical Expense / $2,000,000 General Liability $1,220.40
Thats roughly $13 or so a player, but thats a lot of coverage. Harrison might only require half of that. I can call and find out if we have no other options that are decent.

Yea but the way guys come and go, there is no way you will get that from every player. It is hard enough to get 5$ off some guys. It would be great to have, but were not working with Bridgeport's finest in expenses. We have guys from Wallace with 33 kids and a nice bike.

Lol, I gotcha. Yeah it would be rough getting that.
What about Nuzum's out in Wyatt. Old baseball fields, pretty rocky, but you could mow it down tight and pick the rocks with enough help. huge fields.

def. an idea w/ Nuzums but those might be really rough.
The league has a pretty big following, we will find somewhere.

I was out there last summer fishing and they had been mowed recently. I think Roger has someone mow them. As long as ya get the rocks off the field cant be as bad as LMS. that field is concrete.

The way a lot of people are today with lawsuits, the insurance may be the only route. I don't know very many landowners that will let a bunch of people they don't know, play football! Good thing those rosters aren't finalized yet, i may have to recruit some doctors and lawyers, lol!

www.harcoboe.com/About/Board/Policies/Approved/2303kg-ruseofboardfacilities.pdfI dont see anything in that doc about insurance. I'm pretty sure they require liability, but maybe its just Lori Scott getting us out of there. I've heard she didnt want us there. Of course this doesnt say anything about sporting events. Couldnt find anything on the Harr. Co BOE site Also- Send Dave Sturm a message on facebook Bart, he would know if anyone did. He knows/coached most of us and would help us out finding someplace, school property or not.

I don't think there is any secret she doesn't want us there, but I have my g/f calling Paul Howe, I'll write Dave Sturm a message as well. It may help if a few of us do.

I'll send Dave one.
And if you look at our track record, its pretty good for the most part. We clean it up, no fighting for the most part, the pissing issue might hurt. As far as the insurance, if its not required, look at the season/career ending injuries over there. I can name 4 or 5 that tore and a few had to have surgery. So if we wanted to sue because of injury, someone would have done so by now. I think it's more of a they wont let us, instead of we really cant.

All right. Amazing how fast news travels and how much support the SFL has.
Dave Sturm will be contacted via Barnes. Paul Howe has been contacted by my g/f and I got some info from him, I will call him Monday-ish to see if theres any other options.
I contacted Chubby Demarco who is going to call his dad Sam (mayor) to see if we have any options.
Ideas: Nuzums Practice fields the OVAC baseball field in North View is a decent idea Lumberport's Baseball field/outfield In front of Shinnston pool Anyone go to jewel city, someone built soccer fields in their new city.
Im headed out of town until tomorrow I'll be back around 1 or 2 and I will evaluate all of our options with Mitch etc. keep posting your ideas here and on my facebook and keep texting me.
We will find a place to play. Keep up the hard work.

If we need to get insurance, i just remembered that Mitch gave me a blank check the other night. The insurance is on the BENGALS, as long as nobody takes anymore of our guys, LOL!
